Today is the most relaxed day of the Salkantay tour. In the morning, you will have views of the surrounding Andes Mountains, and the Pumassillo mountain glacier peaks. It is impressive to observe the lovely platform and houses where the Incan nobles studied astronomy. The second set of ruins are on the hillside among terraces. It was perhaps an Incan agricultural experiment station.

The trek is considered moderate to challenging. The difficulty often depends on the individual’s physical condition and acclimatization to the altitude.
The classic Salkantay Trek is typically 4 to 5 days long, covering approximately 72 kilometers (45 miles).
It’s recommended to spend a few days in Cusco or another high-altitude location before the trek to acclimatize and reduce the risk of altitude sickness.
The highest point is the Salkantay Pass, which is around 4,600 meters (15,090 feet) above sea level.
If you’re utilizing the services of a porter or pack animal, tour companies often set a weight limit, typically around 5-7kg for personal items.
The Salkantay trek surpassed all expectations and stands out as one of the most remarkable adventures of my life. The rugged beauty of the Andean terrain, punctuated by glaciers, emerald lakes, and cloud forests, provided an ever-changing backdrop to our journey. Each day presented its own challenges, but with determination and support from our knowledgeable guides, we conquered them all.
