Itinerary

Day 1Exploring the Heart of the Sacred Valley

The adventure with United Mice begins early in the morning. We depart from your hotel in Cusco, aiming to reach the Pisac market by 8:00 AM.

Spend an hour wandering through stalls of vibrant textiles and local crafts. Next, we’ll ascend to the Pisac archaeological site. You’ll explore ancient ruins for about 1.5 hours with our professional guide.

By noon, we’re on our way to Ollantaytambo, enjoying a scenic drive through the Sacred Valley.

You’ll spend the afternoon at the Ollantaytambo fortress. Here, you’ll have two hours to discover this Inca site. As the sun sets, we check into a local hotel in Ollantaytambo.

Day 2Journey to the Iconic Machu Picchu

Our second day starts with a morning train ride from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes.
The train journey, taking about 1.5 hours, offers stunning views of the Urubamba River and the surrounding mountains. Upon arrival, we board a bus to Machu Picchu, climbing the winding road to the famed Inca citadel.

Entering Machu Picchu, our guided tour begins. For about 2.5 hours, explore the main sites, including the Intihuatana stone and the Room of the Three Windows. Our professional guide will showcase the place.

After experiencing Machu Picchu, we returned to Aguas Calientes for lunch. The afternoon train then takes us back to Ollantaytambo. From there, the return to Cusco by bus, arriving in the evening.

This was a fantastic tour that covered the highlights of the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu in two days. The first day we visited the Pisac market, the Ollantaytambo fortress, and the Chinchero village, where we learned about the local culture, history, and handicrafts. The second day we took the train to Aguas Calientes and then the bus to Machu Picchu, where we had a guided tour of the amazing citadel and some free time to explore on our own. The tour was very well organized, with comfortable accommodation, transportation, and meals included. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, and he answered all our questions. It was a great way to see the best of the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu in a short time. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to have an unforgettable experience in Peru1
