150% would recommend United Mice! We had an amazing time with United Mice on the Short Inca Trail during August 2022! We originally planned to do this tour back in March 2020 but had to postpone due to the pandemic, so we were excited to rebook with them in August 2022 when we were finally able to do our trip. COVID hit this company hard, both personally and professionally, so United Mice is in the process of standing up its operations again. Because of this, it took a while to get in contact with them about our August 2022 tour, but we had a phenomenal time once we did! Sol, who now runs the company and has 15+ years of guiding experience, guided us through the Short Inca Trail. She gave great detail on all of the sites, prepped us well for the hike / what to expect, and ensured we were comfortable with each step of the process. Separate from how objectively great of a professional guide she is, she was also incredibly personable and fun to hang out with. I can't rave about Sol & United Mice enough and would 100% book with them again without a second thought (and would actually increase our tour length to spend more time with them!). I'll be recommending United Mice to all my friends who head to Peru in the future!

They saved my cusco trip! 👍 Had the fortune to find United Mice online after the travel agent recommended by my hotel let me down. They wrapped up a 4 days tailored trip in no time and pretty much everything was close to perfect: - cusco tour with its surrounding sites - rainbow mountains - machu picchu They also had great advice on how to plan the trip (staying only one night in aguas calientes for instance) which really improved the quality of my stay. Their guide Harold was with me most of the excursions, he is very knowledgeable and passionate about his job. Highly recommended!

Inca Trail 4D/3N Trek + Rainbow Mountain with United Mice I cannot heap enough praise and gratitude for United Mice and our guide Alex on our trip to Machu Picchu. Finding them listed here on Trip Advisor was a stroke of luck. The timely feedback from the staff under Sal's direction is world class. Do not hesitate to use them for your trek. They are local, hard working, and above all, honest people helping create memories of a lifetime. Alex is a remarkable person with 17+ years of guiding experience. He is knowledgeable and easily becomes a friend, sharing his years of experience as he treats you to history lessons and takes the time for you to see the small details along the trek. He's more than willing to be the worlds best photographer, knowing the best spots along the route for the postcard shots of the many ruins accessed from the trail. The porters, ranging in ages from 39 to 65, were no less than awesome as they provided the comforts that we couldn't carry ourselves. Hardworking, happy and friendly as one could hope for. We were blown away at the quality and quantity of food prepared by the cook in such remote areas. We brought along snacks and energy gels in our packs, thinking that we would lose a little weight on the trek, but ended up carrying them the entire length of the trip and in our return luggage back to the States. Losing weight also didn't happen, but that's just fine when dining on fish, rice, chicken, eggs, popcorn, and of course delicious soup! If you have concerns about the website not being as splashy/flashy as some other tour companies, do NOT worry! I would rather deal with these folks any day rather than anyone! It doesn't take a perfect website to create the perfect trip. It belongs to the people of United Mice, and they deliver!!! From our initial contact, planning a trip to Rainbow Mountain prior to Machu Picchu and Waynapicchu on the tail end, pick up and drop at various hotels, train tickets, lodging in Aquas Caliente, and everything else, these folks are truly professional and never missed a beat. Again, I cant say enough good about the crew... it's nice to be able to leave your worries behind and put your trust into a bunch of strangers so far removed from our every day lives. Rainbow Mountain is a must see, as the thousands of us tourists can attest to. The walk is slow enough and not all that strenuous. Just a steady slog at elevation. Alex makes sure to set a steady, slow pace. Listen to him if he thinks you might want to conserve a bit, as we live at 7,000' elevation, but aren't seasoned for racing along at this elevation. Remember to pack a few sols for the unbeatable fresh squeezed orange juice at the return. Its worth 100 times more than they charge. Enjoy the ride to (and back) as United Mice's seasoned driver gets you safely where you need to be. I cannot imagine experiencing Machu Picchu without the beauty and effort of the Inca Trail. It's just not comparable to riding a bus up to the citadel. Unless your health prevents you, see this from the soles of your boots, not the seat of a bus. The second day is long and steep, but it is so worth it!!! The amazing vistas, changing habitats and weather systems, and the history beneath you act as your passport to history. Booking the climb up Waynapicchu after visiting Machu Picchu is also highly recommended! Make sure to plan ahead and book it early, as it fills up and cant be added at the site. Its well worth the climb to get the rare view from another angle.

Sulkantay 4D/3N trek to Machu Picchu I had a wonderful 4 day/3 night trek from the base on the Salkantay pass to Machu Picchu. Walter was a great multi-lingual guide. He was very knowledgeable and provide us with interesting insight into culture, history and nature along the trail. He also was great at pacing the walk so that we rested frequently on the uphill so we never got really tired (even up to 15,000'+ (4,600m). Walter was also great at taking great pictures of us for our memories! The cook made us wonderful food that was perfect for refueling. I especially like his choice of vegetarian food and the fact that he salted the food to replenish what we lost as we sweated up the hills. Special kudos to the driver who picked us up from the training station from Machu Picchu. Due to a misunderstand on the part of one of the clients (who did not get off the train in the proper station) we had to wait and then spend extra time looking for the missing client in the next train stop of Poroy. The driver was conscientious and patient in trying to figure out how to ensure the missing client got picked up. The United Mice office responded quickly to all my requests and questions. They were timely, flexible and very helpful from beginning to end.

4-Day/3-Night Inca Trail Hike to Machu Picchu We felt beyond lucky to have chosen to trust United Mice with our Inca Trail experience on our trip to Peru! They were professional, prepared, thorough, and kind throughout the entire process. Sal went above and beyond in sending us information on how to prepare for the journey well ahead of our vacation and provided us with a thorough orientation once in Cusco so that we had all of the necessary information ahead of time. While other companies hosted large groups filled with people of variable physical ability, we didn't have any accompanying group members other than us which created an intensely personal and customized experience. We were so thankful to have been paired with our tour guide, Walter, for the trek. Walter was knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the Inca Trail and guided us through the strenuous hike with ease. While other groups were rarely stopping to take in the beauty of the surroundings, Walter encouraged us to take it all in, gave us many lessons regarding the history and relevance of what we were seeing, and offered to take many beautiful photos of us along the way. Additionally, the meals on the trip were beyond fantastic, which was complicated given one of our travelers was a pescetarian. The porters and chef, Cristobal, made the entire experience as easy as possible and were clearly very experienced. There wasn't a single hiccup in what could've been a stressful four days. However, the professionalism of United Mice made the experience a joy. Lastly, United Mice went the extra mile in providing all travel arrangements for us to and from the trail, but also to the airport afterward. If you're looking for an experience that stands out from the rest of the companies who offer tours of the Inca Trail, look no further. United Mice redefined customer service from the moment we booked our hike and delivered 100% in an experience full of wonderful memories and adventures.
